Ancelotti speaks out on Real Madrid midfielder’s reluctance to be a bench player
Real Madrid’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, discussed Luka Modric’s discontent with being left out of the squad.
The Croatian midfielder’s contract with the club expires this summer, hinting at a potential departure from the Bernabeu.
Despite receiving an offer from a Saudi Arabian team last year, Modric opted to stay and compete for his spot in Ancelotti’s team.
Although his time on the field has been restricted, Ancelotti commended Modric for his dedication and professionalism.
According to Ancelotti, “Luka Modrić will never be content sitting on the bench. His work ethic and determination are unwavering. He always approaches training and matches with the same enthusiasm and drive. Accepting a substitute role is not in his nature,” the coach asserted.
