Jail Sentence Handed to Man for Attacking KAI Officer in Lagos

In a recent development, a man known as Paul has received a nine-month prison term from a mobile court in Oshodi. This sentence was issued due to his assault on an enforcement officer and his failure to utilize the pedestrian bridge located at the Agbado Oke-Ode area in Lagos State.

Reports indicate that the officer incurred injuries while attempting to apprehend Paul for disregarding the use of the pedestrian bridge.

On Thursday, the Commissioner of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this information through his social media handle.

“Paul was taken into custody on April 16 for neglecting to use the pedestrian bridge at Agbado Oke-Odo. During the incident, he proceeded to assault and harm the enforcement personnel of #LAGESCOfficial (KAI),” Wahab stated.

“The Mobile Court held at Oshodi reached a verdict yesterday, sentencing him to 9 months of imprisonment.”

As per the commissioner, a total of 138 individuals were detained across Oshodi Oke, Iyana-Ipaja, Ikeja, and Ladipo regions of the state on Wednesday.

This enforcement action aligns with the state government’s dedication to ensuring the proper use of pedestrian bridges and holding violators accountable.
