Incident at Iranian mission leads to detention of man over bomb threat

In a concerning turn of events, a man was apprehended after wielding a fake explosive belt and trespassing onto the premises of the Iranian diplomatic mission in Paris. This alarming breach of security prompted a swift and decisive response from law enforcement authorities.

Upon receiving reports of a potential threat, the Paris Prefecture of Police promptly took action by securing the vicinity. Ultimately, the 60-year-old individual, reported to be of Iranian descent, voluntarily exited the consular section of the embassy before being placed under arrest by the public prosecutor’s office.

Despite his earlier menacing actions, it was determined that the man did not possess any actual weapons when apprehended. He was subsequently placed in police custody on grounds of issuing a death threat.

Notably, the suspect, a resident of France, had staged a previous protest against the Iranian regime last year by setting fire to car tires in front of the embassy building. Following this incident, he had been handed a suspended sentence, which had yet to be finalized in a legally binding manner according to the public prosecutor’s office.

Authorities are now engaged in a thorough investigation to ascertain the motivations behind the individual’s unauthorized entry into the consular section of the embassy.
