Detention of Yahaya Bello’s ADC and Other Security Personnel by Police

Recently, a female police officer who served as the aide-de-camp to the former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, was apprehended and confined by the Nigeria Police Force.

Reports indicate that not only the ADC but also other police officers connected to the beleaguered ex-governor were taken into custody.

Sources mentioned that the officers were detained on suspicion of assisting Bello to evade capture by security personnel, who surrounded his residence in Abuja with the intention of arresting him.

It is worth noting that the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, issued an immediate order on Thursday evening for all officers attached to Bello to be withdrawn.

This directive, communicated through a police wireless message, was prompted by Bello’s sudden disappearance from his Abuja home subsequent to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) raiding the property.

Furthermore, the anti-graft agency had issued a warrant for Bello’s arrest, urging individuals with pertinent information on his location to inform the nearest police station.
