The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, landed in the United Kingdom this Wednesday with the intention of settling in the country for a while. His arrival occurs six years after his high-profile and controversial break with the British Royal House, an event popularly dubbed “Megxit.”
The news, first reported by The Telegraph newspaper and confirmed by the BBC, details that the couple landed this afternoon aboard a private plane at Birmingham airport, located in the center of England.
The couple traveled accompanied by their two children, princes Archie and Lilibet, as well as their two dogs, Mia and Paula.
Schooling and recent family visits
The decision to return to British territory after their time in California was leaked to the media last week, revealing that the dukes have already enrolled their children in an educational center in the country. For strict security reasons, the exact name of the school the little princes will attend is unknown, although estimates from the local press suggest that it is a private institution.
This definitive move is preceded by a private visit that the couple made last July, when they met with King Charles III at his country residence in Highgrove, in the county of Gloucestershire.
During that trip they also went to the mansion of the Earl of Spencer, Harry’s maternal uncle and the place where Diana of Wales is buried, although according to leaks, at that time they did not inform the monarch of their immediate moving plans.

In recent days, some British and American media speculated that one of the reasons for the return lay in Meghan’s alleged talks to act in the Netflix series The Gentlemen, directed by Guy Ritchie. However, this theory has been denied by the former director of Vanity Fair, Tina Brown, who has stated that said participation was ruled out due to the negative reaction received.
The reappearance of the dukes on British soil reopens the debate about their departure at the beginning of 2020, when they decided to move away from the front line of the Royal House to seek financial independence in the United States.
