Graphic images show violent retribution: Infamous thief burned by outraged crowd in Benue

A suspected notorious robber faced lethal vigilante justice in Korinya town of Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, as an enraged mob took the law into their own hands.

 

According to witnesses, the suspect, known as “Natho,” had long been a source of fear in the rural community. His alleged robbing spree came to an end on Monday, January 6, after he reportedly stole money from a well-known local businessman.

 

Reports indicated that the thief and his gang had previously targeted the same victim on multiple occasions, forcibly seizing valuables from the business owner.

 

Following the latest incident, community members set up roadblocks to capture the alleged culprits in response to their anger.

 

Despite the police swiftly arresting the notorious suspect, the furious mob managed to reclaim him from the authorities and set him on fire as a form of retribution.

 

The Police Public Relation Officer for Benue Command, Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect, who had been initially apprehended by the police, was taken by the mob.
