A man in Osun suffered burns while attempting to steal cables from a transformer. The 26-year-old, identified as Ojo Ibrahim, was caught in the act at Araromi street in Ijebu-Ijesa in Oriade Local Government Area of Osun state.
As per the state police command, Ojo ventured to the transformer house at night when the power had been cut off, but electricity was unexpectedly restored and he sustained severe burns during the attempted vandalism.
Residents in the area discovered him in agony the next morning. He was subsequently handed over to the police and is expected to face charges in court soon.
