Governor Sanwo-Olu, in a surprise move, visited the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja today to assess the screening of in-bound passengers for the coronavirus. This visit followed the confirmation of a UK returnee as the third case of Coronavirus in Nigeria, who arrived in Nigeria via the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in February.

During his visit, the Governor urged the airport staff to be vigilant in screening passengers arriving from other countries. He stressed the need to enhance preparedness, monitoring, and engagement, emphasizing the importance of stringent screening for all travelers without exception, regardless of their status or background.

He reiterated the importance of thorough screening for everyone passing through the airport in light of the COVID-19’s non-discriminatory nature. The Governor emphasized the significance of maintaining high levels of vigilance, especially considering Nigeria’s global connectivity.
