“After careful reflection, I have decided to resign from the Government,” Starmer’s main advisor announced in a letter published by the British media. Mandelson, a former European Trade Commissioner, is also being investigated for allegedly revealing sensitive information to Epstein about the rescue of 500,000 million euros who was preparing to approve the Eurozone in 2010 when he was a minister in the government of the former British prime minister Gordon Brown (2007-2010).

In the latest Epstein documents that have come to light, three payments appear to Mandelson, then a member of the United Kingdom Parliament, of $25,000 (just over 21,000 euros) sent between 2003 and 2004 from the billionaire’s bank accounts at the bank JP Morgan.

“I advised the Prime Minister to make this appointment and I take full responsibility for this advice,” McSweeney detailed before asking the public to remember, above all, “to the women and girls ruined by Jeffrey Epstein”whose voices “have remained neglected for too long.”

Following the news, Starmer thanked McSweeney for his services to the Labor Party: “Largely thanks to your dedication, loyalty and leadership, we won a landslide majority in the election and it gave us the opportunity to change the country.”

However, the leader of the conservative opposition, Kimi Badenochhas declared that the resignation is insufficient and responsibilities must be determined at the highest level. “Keir Starmer has to take responsibility for his own terrible decisions. But he never does,” he said on social media. “But once again, with this prime minister, it’s someone else’s fault.”
