Dr. Olusegun Mimiko’s Brother, Abass Mimiko, Becomes ZLP Candidate for Ondo Governorship

Abass Mimiko, the younger brother of former Ondo State Governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, has been selected as the Zenith Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming November election in the state. The party members affirmed his candidacy at the primary election held in Akure, the state capital.

As a medical practitioner, Abass Mimiko outlined his areas of focus if elected as the state’s next governor, emphasizing education, healthcare, the economy, and security.

He stated, “We will prioritize food security, aiming for a surplus within a year. Our agenda also includes affordable quality education, industrialization, housing, and free health services for all residents.”

Abass Mimiko expressed gratitude for the support of his brother, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, and assured readiness to lead the state after the November polls. He believes in building upon his brother’s accomplishments.

Prior to the primary, the party conducted a state congress where Cornelius Akintoye was elected as the new state chairman of the Zenith Labour Party in Ondo.
