Diogo Dalot from Manchester United prefers Diogo Costa over Onana as the next top goalkeeper

Diogo Dalot of Manchester United has sparked intrigue by spotlighting FC Porto’s Diogo Costa as the emerging star in goalkeeping, sidelining his teammate Andre Onana in the process.

Despite United’s significant investment in Onana, Dalot sees Costa as the potential leader in goalkeeping excellence.

Onana, who made a high-profile move from Inter Milan to United, has faced criticism, including remarks from club legends Roy Keane and Gary Neville, but has been showing signs of progress.

Nevertheless, Dalot’s backing of Costa, who was previously linked to a transfer to United, highlights his confidence in the Porto goalkeeper’s ability to dominate the global goalkeeping arena.

In an interview with Sport TV in Portugal, Dalot expressed his faith in Costa’s skills, stating that he is on track to join the top goalkeepers internationally.

“I feel [Costa] is more than prepared for this next step [to a leading European club], which will come when he chooses, whenever,” shared Dalot.

“I have emphasized to him multiple times that he possesses that talent and I firmly believe he will become the world’s best goalkeeper soon.

“He already stands among the elite, which is why I am convinced of his potential and future success.”
