Customers in Kano Demand Action from State Government Against KEDCO for Sudden Power Cuts

In Kano, electricity consumers are calling on the state government to hold Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) accountable for disconnecting power supply without prior notice.

During a recent session at the Kano State House of Assembly chaired by Speaker Jibril Isma’il Falgore, residents voiced their concerns.

Addressing the assembly, Usman Abubakar Tasiu, the representative for Kiru, criticized KEDCO for neglecting customer needs.

Tasi’u expressed frustration over KEDCO’s failure to maintain or replace transformers despite receiving payments from consumers.

He appealed to the Kano State Government to ensure that KEDCO restores power to affected areas, specifically Kiru, Bebeji, and Karaye.

Adding to the discussion, Aminu Sa’ad, the assembly member for Ungoggo, highlighted the ongoing calls for government intervention in KEDCO’s operations to address the persistent power outages.

He emphasized that multiple motions have been raised in previous assemblies to address KEDCO’s shortcomings in serving the people of Kano State.
