Criticism from PDP: Policies by Tinubu blamed for exacerbating insecurity and hardship in Nigeria

In a recent statement, the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) pointed fingers at President Bola Tinubu’s policies for the escalating insecurity, economic struggles, high food prices, and unemployment rates in the country.

The PDP NEC raised concerns about the rise in terrorism, violence, and senseless killings occurring under Tinubu’s leadership.

These concerns were among the decisions made during the 98th NEC gathering of the former ruling party, held at the National Secretariat in Abuja on Thursday.

One section of the communique released at the meeting stated: “NEC is troubled by the poorly executed policies of the insensitive APC government, which are contributing to the worsening insecurity, severe economic challenges, increasing joblessness, rising food costs, and overall distress and despair prevailing in the nation.”

Furthermore, the communique highlighted the growing number of terrorist activities, violent incidents, including the surge in mindless killings, mass abductions of innocent citizens, and raids on communities across different regions of Nigeria.

“NEC strongly denounces the indifference, incompetence, and arrogance displayed by the failing APC administration, which continues to demonstrate a lack of concern or dedication to the welfare of Nigerians,” the statement added.
