Chaos Erupts in Okitipupa During Ondo APC Primary Elections


Supporters of two governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) clashed at Ward 1, Stella Maris College, Okitipupa, leading to a violent situation.

Party members who arrived in large numbers for the primaries to select the APC candidate for the upcoming November 16 election were forced to flee when a confrontation broke out between the rival factions.

As reported by the News Agency of Nigeria, the violence occurred before the accreditation and election process could commence, causing chaos and prompting voters to seek safety.

An anonymous accredited voter shared with NAN that an agent of one of the aspirants arrived at the ward, seized the validation and accreditation papers, and swiftly left the scene.

Describing the incident, the voter stated, “One of the agents arrived, grabbed the validation and accreditation papers, and made a quick getaway in his vehicle.

“Despite attempts to pursue him, he managed to escape, triggering the outbreak of violence,” the voter explained.

NAN also reported that the security personnel present at the ward struggled to control the situation, leading to the dispersal of all individuals present at the scene.
