Burna Boy issues apologies to Nigerian blogs, criticizes Western outlets

Singer Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, expressed regret towards Nigerian blogs while calling out Western news platforms for circulating rumors about his age.

In light of recent posts by Western blogs questioning Burna Boy’s claim of being 32 years old, citing that he appears older in some photos, the Grammy-winning artist took to Instagram to clarify the situation.

Burna Boy clarified that the photos in question were from the past, acknowledging that he owed apologies to Nigerian blogs in contrast to what he perceived as sensationalist tendencies in Western media outlets.

In his statement, he addressed followers reliant on platforms like @theshaderoom and @theshadeborough, highlighting their fixation on trivial matters such as his facial hair style rather than his musical achievements.

He remarked, “For all the milestones and accomplishments I’ve achieved, it’s disheartening that some only focus on irrelevant gossip and superficial details.”

Furthermore, Burna Boy conceded, “I must extend my apologies to Nigerian blogs; their approach may have shortcomings, but it seems they have mimicked the standards set by the Western media.”

Earlier, Burna Boy had issued a warning against Nigerian blogs, threatening legal action if they persisted in unwarranted coverage after rejecting his proposal for them to refrain from unsolicited reporting on his personal matters.
