Raising Eyebrows: Anyim Vera Faces Criticism for Seeking Financial Support to Sustain ‘Celebrity’ Image

Anyim Vera, a member of Dunamis International Gospel Center, DIGC, found herself in the midst of intense scrutiny following her plea for financial assistance.

Not long ago, a video surfaced where the Senior Pastor of the church, Dr. Paul Enenche, questioned the veracity of Vera’s claims during her testimony about being a law graduate due to her faulty English.

This incident stirred up reactions from the public, demanding an apology from the pastor to the church member, which was later issued.

In a recent Facebook video, Vera appealed for financial help to secure better housing, expressing the insecurity of her current residence and asserting that her ‘celebrity’ status was unexpected.

Addressing Nigerians, she disclosed, “The sudden fame took me by surprise, I never aspired to be a celebrity. I request your assistance for accommodation as I cannot afford to rent a safe house at the moment.”

However, the plea did not sit well with some social media users who criticized her recent actions.

Here are a few comments from the post:

Iyanya Johnny: Being popular is different from being a celebrity. Now, seeking help? Wasn’t she reported as a police officer before?

Chidozie Emebie: Madam, this video isn’t right. Whoever advised you to make it is not looking out for your best interests. Your life is secure; there’s no need to fear. God has blessed you, and more blessings are on the way. Use wisdom and discretion wisely.

Edward Ojodomo: This video could tarnish your positive image and reputation, hindering potential blessings. Remove it soon and keep faith for a miraculous transformation from God. This is heartfelt advice.

Alhassan Anthony: Weren’t you a police officer? Why fear for security? You have the grace; return to your former residence. No need for begging.

Ekanade Samuel: Ma’am, cherish the present privilege; it won’t last forever. Thank God for your blessings and proceed wisely. As Pastor Paul Enenche stated, your spotlight won’t endure, act responsibly in time. Selah!

Lois Adams: Unless she stops, she should be relieved of her duties; she’s becoming a nuisance.
