British police deploy an anti-explosive device at Gatwick Airport in London

London Gatwick Airport, Britain’s second busiest, has evacuated much of the South Terminal as a precaution due to a security incident. This was confirmed by the airport in a statement on the social network X.

In the message they prohibit passengers from entering the terminal “while this happens”, claiming that their safety and that of the staff is being of “highest priority.” “We are working hard to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”

According to the latest information, the UK police have deployed an explosives disposal team at the airport and a security cordon has been established at the affected terminal.

The measures have been taken after discovering a suspicious prohibited item in luggage.
