Brazilian Football Icon Romario, 58, Makes Shocking Return to the Pitch

One of Brazil’s footballing legends, Romario, has surprised fans by announcing his return to the game at the age of 58. He is set to play for America Football Club in Rio de Janeiro, marking his comeback 15 years after retiring.

Romario’s illustrious career includes winning the 1994 World Cup and playing for esteemed clubs like PSV in the Netherlands and Barcelona in La Liga.

Now, Romario has officially joined America Football Club as a player, a team he also presides over and where his son, Romarinho, currently plays.

In an Instagram announcement, he expressed his excitement at the prospect of playing alongside his son and for his beloved team.

Despite his return, Romario has opted to be paid only the club’s “minimum wage,” which he plans to donate back to America Football Club, as reported by Marca.
