The spokesperson for President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, has insinuated that former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, harbors bitterness.
In a recent post on his X handle, Onanuga shared content from Nwachukwu Chigozie @chigozie0102, suggesting that Obi is working to deteriorate Nigeria’s image.
In the post, Chigozie referred to Obi as a ‘chief mourner’, claiming that Obi traveled to Canada to speak negatively about Nigeria.
Chigozie sarcastically described how Obi supposedly attempted to discredit Nigeria while the mayor of the town praised the country, leading to an awkward situation where Obi reluctantly joined in the applause for the mayor.
These remarks seem to have surfaced following Obi’s recent trip to Canada, where he criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its handling of the last presidential election.
Obi also expressed frustration with the current government’s tactics of name-calling and organizing public gatherings against him.
Onanuga later referenced the post on his personal X handle, labeling Obi as “Bitter Obi”.
