Benue Deputy Speaker Urges Investigation After Constituent Allegedly Killed by ‘Operation Zenda’


Reports indicate that a Benue Youth named Peter Aboh Onminyi from Ado LGA was killed at his residence in Makurdi by unidentified members of Operation Zenda, a joint task force of Benue State Police Command.

The motive behind his tragic death remains unknown at this time.

Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon Mrs Lami Danladi Ogenyi, who represents Ado State Constituency, visited the deceased’s residence in Makurdi. She called on the Benue State Commissioner of Police to thoroughly investigate the killing by Operation Zenda members.

Assuring the public that thorough investigation will be carried out, Mrs. Lami vowed to uncover the truth behind the senseless killing of the promising young man from her constituency.

She also met with the Commander of OPS ZENDA JTF, Makurdi Command, where the operatives involved in the incident were reportedly stationed.

Encouraging relevant authorities to intensify their efforts in the investigation, the Deputy Speaker appealed to the youths of Benue state, especially those in Ado Local Government area, to maintain law and order, with a promise that justice will be served.

Accompanying the Deputy Speaker during the visit were Hon Agada Ismail Samuel, the representative of Ogbadibo State Constituency, and Hon Ikyan Douglas, the representative of Makurdi South constituency.
