Benin Republic to face Super Eagles in Abidjan during 2026 WCQ

Reports from NewsNow indicate that Benin will host Nigeria at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan in June.

The upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matchday four match has been relocated to Abidjan due to the unavailability of a suitable venue by the Benin Football Federation.

For the Super Eagles, this return to Abidjan holds significance as they were situated there during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where they played a significant portion of their matches at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.

Prior to this match against Benin, the West African team will first face South Africa’s Bafana Bafana in their matchday three fixture.

The match against South Africa is scheduled to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7.

Currently, the Super Eagles have yet to secure a victory in the qualifiers, having managed only draws in their initial two matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
