Barcelona Fined by UEFA Following Champions League Elimination

After their Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona has been hit with a fine of at least €32000 by UEFA due to the actions of their supporters. The disciplinary measures stem from incidents during the first leg of the tie in Paris, according to a report by Marca.

UEFA’s list of offenses includes a €2000 penalty for the use of flares, €5000 for damages caused, including the obligation to reimburse PSG for seat repairs within 30 days, and a €25000 sanction for racist behavior exhibited by Barcelona’s fans.

This is not the first instance where Barcelona has found themselves on the receiving end of UEFA sanctions for misconduct.

The club’s fanbase has previously been reprimanded for instances of racial abuse, with recurrent fines issued as a result.

Recently, derogatory chants aimed at Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior were reported during a match against Napoli.

Barcelona has also been handed an additional punishment, which entails a ban on selling tickets to their supporters for away matches in Europe. However, this penalty is currently suspended for the upcoming year, with the potential for activation in the event of any future infractions.

UEFA has cautioned Barcelona regarding the conduct of their fans moving forward.
