A man by the name of Samson Cletus has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command for trying to steal a tricycle from an unconscious rider.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest via a post on his Twitter account, @ben Hundeyin, last Sunday.
The arrest of the suspect took place in the Igando area of Lagos on the same day.
Upon receiving reports of suspicious activities involving a tricycle, a patrol team from Igando Division swiftly responded to the scene on Celestial Road, Igando.
At the location, the police found the tricycle rider unconscious, while the suspect was caught in the act of trying to flee with the tricycle.
The police representative mentioned that efforts are underway to apprehend other accomplices who managed to escape upon noticing the arrival of law enforcement.
Additionally, he reported that the injured rider is currently receiving treatment in a nearby hospital.
The police spokesperson expressed gratitude towards the residents of Lagos for providing timely information.
