Former APC governorship aspirant in Edo State decides to leave party

A previous contender for the governorship position under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Mrs. Victoria Amu, has officially resigned from the party.

In a letter directed to the chairman of Ward 4 in Owan West local government area of Edo State, Amu notified of her resignation.

She mentioned family and personal reasons as the basis for her choice to step down from the APC.

Amu expressed gratitude to the APC for considering her “deserving of the opportunity to serve as SSA on Social Mobilization for 7 years during Comrade Adams Oshiomhole’s tenure, and as SSA to Governor Godwin Obaseki for one year.”

She stated, “It is worth noting that I contested for the House of Assembly in 2022 and also participated in the recent Governorship race in 2024, all while being a member of the APC.”

She continued, “I urge my friends, supporters, and well-wishers to respect my choices at this critical juncture as we seek to redefine the future of our state.”

Amu, a professional Occupational Therapist, has not yet revealed her next steps.
