APC denies involvement in alleged plot against Ganduje

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted claims made by its Kano State chapter suggesting that the Presidency may be behind the attempt to oust National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje from his position.

Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, addressed this during an appearance on Arise TV on Thursday, dismissing the allegations.

Earlier, the Kano APC, represented by Ahmad Aruwa, had accused the Presidency of working against the APC national chairman, as seen in a viral video circulating on social media.

In the video, Aruwa pointed fingers at certain elements within the presidency for the challenges faced by Ganduje.

Furthermore, the Kano APC criticized President Bola Tinubu for not publicly supporting Ganduje and accused him of being instrumental in bringing Ganduje to Kano despite opposition from some grassroots politicians.

Responding to these accusations, Morka stated that while he was not fully aware of the context in which Aruwa made his claims, there might be some truth to them.

He stated, “I am just hearing about this issue for the first time. I cannot provide much insight as I do not know the full context. However, it is important to note that Ganduje is still the national chairman of the APC, as recognized by our party leader, the president. So, the situation remains unchanged.”

“The individuals pushing for the suspension of the national chairman are not legitimate members of the party and lack authority. You may have witnessed that the executive committee and ward members denounced these actions at the party headquarters,” Morka added.

“There are certain individuals causing turmoil using legal means to disrupt peace in Kano, without valid reasons. Many of those present at the press conference are linked to senior officials of the NNPP,” Morka continued.

The political situation in Kano escalated on Wednesday when a Federal High Court, under Justice A.M Liman, intervened to halt Ganduje’s purported suspension by his ward executives in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, following a request by Ganduje to safeguard his right to a fair trial.
