Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, shared that Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City manager, entered the dressing room to offer his congratulations to the Real Madrid team following their loss in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday.
The LaLiga champions managed to advance past City with a penalty shoot-out victory, as the match ended in a 1-1 draw (4-4 aggregate) at the Etihad.
Despite Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic missing penalties for Guardiola’s side, and Luka Modric missing for Real Madrid, it was Real Madrid who secured their spot in the semi-finals to face Bayern Munich.
“Winning at City requires hard work, sacrifice, and determination. Guardiola’s graciousness following the match exemplifies true sportsmanship,” expressed Ancelotti in an interview with Movistar.
