A shocking incident occurred on Thursday involving former Super Eagles winger, Tijani Babangida, who was in a serious car accident.
In the tragic event, Babangida’s brother, Ibrahim, lost his life.
Both Babangida and his wife are currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
Babangida notably contributed to the Nigerian team’s victory at the Atlanta 1996 Olympics, where they secured a gold medal.
He currently holds the position of President at the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria.
The announcement of this unfortunate incident was made by Emmanuel Babayaro, a former teammate and the General Secretary of PFAN, through an official statement.
In the statement, he requested for prayers from colleagues and well-wishers for Babangida’s recovery following the accident that took place on the Kaduna-Zaria Road.
Tragically, Ibrahim Babangida, his younger brother, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident, while Babangida and his family were rushed to the hospital for urgent medical care.
