An Examination by an Independent Doctor Finally Granted to Nnamdi Kanu by DSS

After a series of negotiations, Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, was finally examined by an independent medical doctor on Thursday.

Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s lead counsel, mentioned that the doctor chosen to conduct the examination was highly skilled and was specifically selected by Kanu himself.

Ejimakor shared this update following a regular meeting with Kanu held at the Department of State Services, DSS facility.

In a post on X, Ejimakor stated: “The long-awaited moment has arrived. Today, a highly competent doctor, personally selected by Onyendu #MNK, met and conducted an examination on him.

“The process was not without challenges, considering the delays since last year. The resilient #MnkLegalTeam also had a meeting with MNK today. It’s a tough journey, but we must persevere.”

Previously, Ejimakor had criticized DSS operatives for hindering Kanu’s access to an independent medical professional.

During his most recent court appearance, the IPOB leader revealed his struggles with congestive cancer and expressed dissatisfaction with the DSS for not taking his health issues seriously.

Kanu emphasized: “The Court has the right to reconsider its decision. They will reconsider. My rights must be upheld. I am entitled to a fair hearing.

“I am dealing with congestive heart failure. Essentially, they aim to prolong my life until they perceive that I am reaching a breaking point, that my heart is on the verge of failing, and only then will they say ‘go.’”
