A 33-year-old man, Adegun Aboderin, has been arrested by the Lagos State police for allegedly possessing a pistol unlawfully.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson in Lagos State, confirmed the arrest on Thursday via a post on his X handle @benHundeyin.
The apprehension of the suspect took place in the morning at Abule-Ado, Amuwo-Odofin area of the state during a stop and search operation, according to Hundeyin.
Upon searching the suspect, a locally made semi-automatic pistol was uncovered, the spokesman mentioned.
Hundeyin stated that investigations into the matter are currently underway.
