The different versions about the alleged cerebral hemorrhage that the North Korean president – Kim Jong-un – would have suffered and his emergency transfer to China, have been circulating since this Sunday on social networks, even being published by British media such as The Sun. Shortly after, it was the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) that released several photographs of the shopping president with his wife Ri Sol-ju and his daughter Kim Ju-ae as proof of life. Although, at the moment, it has not been possible to verify when these images are from.

Alejandro Cao de Benós, North Korea’s cultural delegate in the West, talks about fakenews and points to the American secret services as the culprits. “I think that really behind all this are the American intelligence services, which are the ones who have the power to carry out this plot simultaneously, paying several international influencers, buying followers or likes,” says one of Pyongyang’s top collaborators.

And he adds that “Comrade Kim Jong-un’s health is excellent. This is only hoaxes, especially by an X account run by a Chinese in New York, who is against the government of the People’s Republic of China.” Cao de Benós points out that the causes of this misinformation may have two aspects. “On the one hand, trying to ridicule, demonize and insult North Korea and, on the other hand, it is probably behind the campaign of a new Modern Warfare video game (from Call of Duty), a video game in which you can only play on the American side and in which you have to assassinate both the leaders and other officers of the North Korean army.”
From the North Korean government, absolute silence on a matter that they understand is to weaken, discredit and ridicule the Kim Jong-un regime. Despite this, in these last hours of rumors, questions about his possible succession in the event of illness or death, and even the continuity of his ideological and political agenda in the future, have been inevitable.
