Adeyinka believes Obasogie and Bankole can set a new NPFL clean sheet milestone

In the Nigeria Premier Football League, Kwara United goalkeeper Adewale Adeyinka has expressed confidence in the goalkeeping duo of Amas Obasogie and Kayode Bankole to break the current record for the most clean sheets in a single season.

Adeyinka currently holds the title for the most clean sheets achieved by a goalkeeper in a single NPFL season after securing 16 clean sheets in the 2020/21 campaign.

Presently, Bendel Insurance’s Obasogie and Remo Stars’ Bankole are tied with 13 clean sheets each in the ongoing season.

Reflecting on his accomplishment, Adeyinka shared his thoughts with Lodgexpress, saying: “Achieving that milestone in the 2020/2021 season was a great honor for me. Breaking Suraj Ayeloso’s record was a proud moment and a highlight of my career.”

He added, “Kayode Bankole and Amas Obasogie are both exceptional goalkeepers, and I hold them in high regard for their skills and talent.”

“Maintaining consistent clean sheets in the NPFL is no easy feat, and their impressive performances deserve applause,” Adeyinka remarked.

Regarding the possibility of Obasogie and Bankole surpassing his record, Adeyinka expressed, “In football, anything is achievable. Records are meant to be broken, and if they sustain their remarkable form, they have a good chance of outshining my accomplishment.”
