Addressing Insecurity: Military Takes Down Terrorists and Prevents Extremist Activities in Kaduna

On Friday, the Nigerian Army announced that troops engaged in counter terrorism operations in Kaduna State successfully eliminated terrorists and disrupted the violent activities of extremists, averting the abduction of farmers in the Giwa Local Government Area.

A post on the Army’s X handle on Friday provided details about the operation, stating that troops acted on credible intelligence indicating that terrorists were using the Basurfe village, situated southwest of Kidandan, as their base.

Despite being ambushed by the terrorists, the troops demonstrated tactical prowess and managed to push through, causing the insurgents to disperse in different directions.

During the intense confrontation, the troops identified some terrorists attempting to flee on motorcycles and swiftly engaged them, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists.

Additionally, the troops seized two AK-47 rifles, three magazines, and a motorbike during the operation. They also uncovered the insurgents’ base located on a strategically elevated position.

The operation intensified as the troops dismantled the enclave, seizing a Semi-Automatic Pump-Action rifle, 16 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), two Baofeng communication radio sets, and a bag containing medical supplies, tobacco, hand gloves, and face masks.
