Actor Kristofer Hivju from ‘Game of Thrones’ tests positive for coronavirus

“Game of Thrones” star Kristofer Hivju shared on Monday, March 16, that he plans to self-quarantine after testing positive for coronavirus.

The Norwegian actor, known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane on the HBO series, revealed this news in an Instagram post featuring his wife. While it’s uncertain if his wife also has the virus, Hivju mentioned that his symptoms were mild.

In his message, he stated:

“Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My familiy and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold.”

“There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1.5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading.”

The global number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has surpassed 179,000, with approximately 1,300 confirmed cases reported in Norway.

Recently, British actor Idris Elba also announced his positive test for coronavirus after being in contact with an infected person.
