Abba Moro Urges Immediate Halt to Killings in Benue South

Calling for an urgent cessation to the relentless killings in various parts of Benue South’s senatorial district by Fulani militia, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro (PDP Benue South) has spoken out.

Expressing his dismay at the unfolding events, Senator Moro has urged both the federal and state governments to swiftly intervene to curb the barbaric acts. He expressed concerns about the dwindling patience of the affected population, who have been awaiting government assistance.

Recent reports have indicated that Apa, Agatu, and Otukpo LGAs have been besieged by violent attacks from roaming herders, resulting in widespread loss of lives and property.

In a statement released through his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, the Minority Leader emphasized that the victims have reached a breaking point and may take matters into their own hands if immediate aid is not extended to them. He strongly condemned the recent atrocities, particularly the Sunday and Friday killings in Ogbaulu community, Agatu LGA.

He decried the unprovoked assaults that tragically claimed the lives of five unarmed villagers on their farms, stressing that such incidents are intolerable. He has called upon law enforcement agencies to apprehend the perpetrators of these heinous crimes and ensure they face justice.
