Article Rewrite Adeleke vows to eliminate unemployment for Osun youth

Addressing the issue of unemployment among young people in Osun State is a top priority for the state government.

During the Career Fair Day organized for students, job seekers, and various stakeholders in partnership with Federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, Governor Ademola Adeleke reiterated this commitment.

Represented by the Head of Service, Ayanleye Aina, the Governor emphasized that the job fair serves as a launchpad for leveraging opportunities within federal entities based in the state, providing a valuable platform for job seekers.

He articulated, “Our employment strategy aims to boost the state’s economy by promoting agro-industrial activities across different age groups and diversifying the economic landscape.”

“Furthermore, we are actively promoting the involvement of local businesses in project execution, empowering them to hire more local residents in the construction sector,” he added.

The governor highlighted the revival of vocational education centers in Osun State, underlining the administration’s commitment to equipping young people with technical skills essential for self-employment.

In his opening speech, Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Affairs, Biyi Odunlade, urged participants to engage directly with the attending agencies to explore available career prospects within Osun State and at the national level.

He also stressed the importance of cultivating enduring collaborative relationships between agencies and the ministry for future positive engagements.
