A Catholic priest is taken by gunmen in Adamawa


Confirmation has been received from the Adamawa State Police Command regarding the abduction of Reverend Father Oliver Buba by individuals believed to be kidnappers.

SP Suleiman Nguroje, the spokesperson for the command, confirmed the incident in Yola on Wednesday and mentioned that a rescue team has been dispatched to the forest.

In a statement endorsed by the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Most Reverend Stephen Mamza, it was revealed that the victim was taken from his dwelling in Numan Local Government Area on Tuesday.

Reverend Mamza, explaining that prayers for divine intervention have been initiated for the immediate release of the priest from his captors, also asked for the Christian community and the public in general to provide their own prayers.
