A call for solidarity in Southern Kaduna against the use of illicit drugs

There is an urgent need for communities in Southern Kaduna to collaborate with security agencies in the area to combat insecurity.

The people are also encouraged to take decisive actions to tackle the harmful impact of drug abuse among the youths.

An event organized by the Global Peace Foundation Nigeria in partnership with the AMAYA Peace Foundation brought together the community to raise awareness against the use of drugs in Southern Kaduna.

The foundation stressed the critical importance of synergy between community members and security agencies to urgently address the widespread issue of drug abuse and ensure peaceful coexistence in the area.

The Country Director of Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, urged participants to approach the issue of drug addiction with empathy and compassion.

He emphasized the need for a shift in societal attitudes toward individuals struggling with addiction and highlighted the importance of love and support in facilitating the rehabilitation and reintegration of those affected by substance abuse.

Sheikh Halliru Maraya, the Northern Coordinator of Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, advocated for the adoption of the concept of ‘One Family Under God,’ emphasizing the inherent unity among all humanity regardless of diverse backgrounds.

He highlighted the devastating repercussions of illicit drug use, emphasizing the adverse effects on mental health and societal stability.

Participants at the event engaged in discussions and proposed practical solutions to address the complex challenges posed by drug abuse in the area.
