In Jigawa, a State High Court, under Justice Musa Ubale, delivered a life imprisonment verdict to Aminu Ali, aged 25, for sexually assaulting and sodomizing a 10-year-old boy (identity protected).
Ali, a resident of Aukayawa Quarters in the Gwaram Local Government Area of Jigawa State, was convicted by the court after the prosecution successfully proved that he enticed the victim and committed acts of anal sex.
Utilizing five witnesses and four exhibits, including a medical report, the prosecution effectively presented its case.
Justice Ubale, in his verdict, declared that the prosecution had incontrovertibly proven the case.
Consequently, the judge imposed a life sentence on the perpetrator in accordance with Section 3 (2 & 4) of the Violence Against Person Prohibition Law of Jigawa State (VAPP LAW).
Justice Ubale also highlighted that the convict retains the right to challenge the ruling within three months.
