Woman Disowned by Church After Being Found in Anambra Shrine

A woman who was recently discovered at a shrine in Agulu, Anaocha council of Anambra State has been disowned by the United Voice of Sabbath Churches of Nigeria (UVSCN), an umbrella body of Sabbath churches in the state.

The woman, accused of engaging in fetish practices, was apprehended while dressed in a white garment and reciting incantations in a shrine that is traditionally prohibited to women. Her actions were perceived to be similar to the style of Sabbath worshippers, as reported by LIB earlier.

Rev Arinze Chukwuka, the spokesperson of the UVSCN, emphasized that the woman does not have any connection to the Sabbath identity. He asserted that after an interrogation conducted by him and other clergymen assigned to investigate the incident, the woman admitted to being a traditionalist rather than a Sabbatharian priest.

Chukwuka stated;

 “The general public should refrain from associating the woman with Sabbath worship, as she does not have any ties with Sabbath observance or operate within a Sabbath Church.

“I led a clergy team appointed to investigate the incident following numerous publications on social media and local radio stations. After questioning her, she confessed that she is a traditionalist, not a Sabbatharian priest.

“The public is warned that Sabbath Churches are Sabbath observers who adhere to the Ten Commandments of God. As stated in the Bible, the first of the Commandments prohibits the worship of other gods in any form, including wooden images.

“The woman could not have been a Sabbath observer because she believes and worships wooden images in her house.”
