What to do in case of Third World War: these are the safest countries to live

Since the United States attacked Iran’s main nuclear centrals, the hypotheses about a possible world war have shot each other. Citizens arise doubts, especially about whether the conflict can experience an international escalation that directly affects their country.

Speaking to Onda Cero during an interview in ‘More than one’, the co -director of the Institute of Conflicts and Humanitarian Action Studies (IECAH), Jesús Núñez Villaverde, explains that “Iran is part of the ‘Non -Proliferation Treaty’ and the inspectors of that organism certify that until now it has not reached nuclear capacity and that there are no indications that a nuclear program of that nature is carried out.” Even so, he warns that this does not mean that there is no “suspicions.”

This uncertainty leads to wonder what the safest countries would be in case a World War explodes. According to him Global Peace Index 2025the five most peaceful countries are Iceland, Ireland, New Zealand, Austria and Switzerland.

The five safest countries in case of World War

Taking into consideration the results of the report and the voice of the experts, the countries that could provide greater security and self -supply in case of world conflict are:

  • New Zealand: Located in the South Pacific, it is far from the main voltage spotlights worldwide. It has food self -sufficiency because it is able to produce more foods than it consumes and also has access to renewable energy. Enjoy political stability.
  • Swiss. It does not belong to NATO and has remained out of world conflicts. It has mountainous terrain, which makes land incursions difficult.
  • Iceland. It is geographically isolated, it is energetically self -sufficient and has experience in crisis management.
  • Chili. Enjoy a strategic location thanks to the Andes mountain range. In addition, it has great natural resources.
  • Bután. This country, not so common, is located in the Himalayas. It has discrete policies and does not get involved in global conflicts.

Why Spain is not among the most ideal

The mere fact of belonging to NATO entails a greater risk than other neutral countries like Switzerland or New Zealand. Article 5 of the Treaty reflects that an attack against an ally is considered an attack against all. It is true that in this case it does not apply because the United States has begun by attacking Iran and not vice versa.

Other possible reasons are your Geopolitical position and strategic alliances or internal vulnerabilities and dependencies.
