Weapons Recovery by Police in Delta State

In a recent operation, the Delta State Police Command has successfully uncovered a sack containing a significant arsenal, including three AK-49 rifles, two AK-47 rifles, and a total of 207 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition. This find was located in the hideout of suspected kidnappers at Ughrughelli village, a subclan in Agbarho situated within the Ughelli North Local Government Area.

On 30/05/2024 around 1050hrs, the police made the recovery near the rail track, as reported by NewsNow.

Assistance from the Divisional Police Officer, DPO Agbarho Division, was pivotal in facilitating this successful operation, as highlighted in a statement released by Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.

During an extensive search activity in the area, the police cordoned off the vicinity. The search revealed hidden sack bags, which upon examination, yielded three (3) AK-49 rifles, two (2) AK-47 Rifles, and Two Hundred and Seven (207) rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition.

The statement emphasized that “The command has launched a serious manhunt for the fleeing suspected kidnappers.” Authorities are actively pursuing the perpetrators.
