Former Communication Minister, Adebayo Shittu has criticized Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra state and Labor party’s presidential candidate, for leaving a substantial amount of money at the end of his tenure. Shittu contended in an interview with DailyTrust that Obi, who is not a banker, had no business accumulating state funds and accused him of diverting the money into his personal ventures.
“He left behind the government money that he had invested in his private company. If you talk of somebody leaving money, was he supposed to leave money? Is he a banker or is he a bank? Was the money for safekeeping?” Shittu stated.
