Warning Against Imposing Assistants on Finidi, Says Udeze

A caution has been issued by former Super Eagles defender, Ifeanyi Udeze, to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) advising against the imposition of ambitious assistants on the newly appointed team head coach, Finidi George.

Finidi is currently in the process of selecting his assistants, with reports suggesting that former internationals Emmanuel Amuneke and Daniel Amokachi are being considered for the role.

It is worth noting that Amokachi and Amuneke had both applied for the position of Super Eagles head coach.

Udeze, a member of the Super Eagles squad at the 2022 FIFA World Cup co-hosted by Japan and South Korea, expressed his belief that forcing assistants on Finidi could lead to negative outcomes.

During an interview with Brila FM, Udeze stated, “I don’t want to see a former player causing issues for Finidi.”

“The NFF must allow him to choose assistants who will support him rather than undermine him,” he continued.

“It is crucial that he is granted the liberty to appoint his own assistants.”
