Vice President Shettima: Naira’s Upward Trajectory Against Dollar to Persist, Thanks to Tinubu’s Vision

Assurance has been given by Vice President Kashim Shettima that the naira will see continued appreciation against the dollar.

Shettima expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s understanding of the dynamics at play, ensuring the naira’s positive trend.

The Vice President made these remarks during a courtesy visit from the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry delegation, led by President Gabriel Idahosa, at the President Villa in Abuja.

In a statement released by his media aide, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President remarked that Tinubu’s actions to eliminate fuel subsidies and unify exchange rates were necessary steps to prevent overnight billionaires from emerging under the previous system.

He remarked, “Amidst the chaos in naira valuation, some rejoiced, but we knew leadership would rectify the situation. Asiwaju is well versed in this, and surely we are already observing positive gains with the naira, with more improvements on the horizon.”

Shettima also praised Tinubu’s leadership during his tenure as Lagos governor, highlighting its pivotal role in laying the groundwork for the state’s current extensive development.

“Credit must be given to President Tinubu for the strategic foundation he paved that paved the way for the remarkable progress we witness in Lagos today,” he added.
