The cause of the pipeline explosion in Abule Ado not vandalism – NEMA

NEMA has refuted claims of pipeline vandalism causing the explosion in Abule Ado, Lagos State.

Acting coordinator of the Lagos office of the agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, disclosed that evidence at the scene indicated that the explosion was unrelated to vandalism. It is suspected to have occurred in a factory in the Abule Ado area.

Farinloye confirmed that numerous properties were destroyed as a result of the explosion. He also mentioned that the pipeline passing through the area was shut down by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) after the 9 am incident on March 15.
