UNIOSUN Management: Denial of Kidnapping, Assault, Murder Claims on University Campuses

Claims of incidents involving kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder on the campuses of Osun State University, UNIOSUN, have been labeled as false and baseless by the university management.

The UNIOSUN spokesperson, Ademola Adesoji, released a statement on Sunday refuting the rumors that were circulating through a viral audio message. Adesoji emphasized that the university has implemented strong security measures to ensure the safety of its students, staff, and visitors.

Reiterating the institution’s dedication to maintaining a secure environment, Adesoji highlighted that there have been no instances of security breaches on the campuses.

Assuring parents, staff, students, and all stakeholders associated with UNIOSUN, he mentioned that the university has taken all necessary steps to uphold security protocols.

“We want to assure all members of the university community that we are actively enhancing security measures. There have been no confirmed incidents of kidnapping, sexual assault, or murder on our premises.

“Although we acknowledge the concerns raised by such rumors, we stress that the safety and well-being of our community remain our utmost priority. There have been no reports of robbery or banditry at our Osogbo Campus.”

Adesoji also highlighted the comprehensive training of the university’s security team, who collaborate closely with local law enforcement agencies such as the police, Amotekun, DSS, and civil defense forces.

“Our security personnel conduct regular patrols in and around the university campus and residential buildings to ensure a safe and protected environment,” he added.

Furthermore, he urged members of the university community to refrain from spreading unverified information that could lead to unnecessary panic.
