Reports from the UK Sun reveal that over the past weekend, two Premier League footballers were apprehended on suspicion of rape and assault.
Both individuals, aged 19, represent the same club within the league.
Law enforcement officials conducted a brief interview with one of the players at the club’s stadium in connection with accusations of assault and complicity in a rape case.
Subsequently, he was officially arrested after departing the stadium, spending a night in police custody, and later being interrogated by detectives whilst under caution.
The teammate was also detained and questioned the following day regarding allegations of rape.
An official police statement indicated, “Two individuals have been detained following a rape complaint.
A 19-year-old suspect was taken into custody on charges of assault and allegedly aiding and abetting a rape.
Concurrently, another 19-year-old was arrested on suspicion of rape.
Both subjects have since been granted release on police bail pending further investigations.”
