The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has once again sent a message to Spain. This time to describe what is happening in Ceuta as “sad” and to affirm that our country has “zero control” of the borders. He has done so through a publication in Truth Social, although he has not expressly mentioned the immigration crisis.
“What is happening in Spain is very sad, a country with ZERO control of its border,” he wrote in his publication. This message comes days after the American magnate once again attacked Spain, which he considers a “ruined country.” In that case he did explicitly mention the immigration crisis, because in his opinion it was “very sad to see” the massive influx of immigrants.
In that same message, he took the opportunity to remember that Spain is not acting correctly towards NATO and defense spending. “Spain will be a ruined country. I have problems with Spain because it is not behaving very well towards NATO and it is not paying what it should pay.”
Regarding Ceuta, on that occasion he expressed that he had “never seen anything like it before” and that it was “very sad to see” how “thousands of people” burst into Spain “en masse.” Trump also referred to the interpretation that the Supreme Court ruling prohibits hot returns by swimming.
Constant criticism of Spain for a month
In his opinion, what happened is due to “weak laws and poor management” by the Government, which also “did not know what to do” in the face of the massive arrival of immigrants. In addition, he made a parallel with what happened during Joe Biden’s mandate: “We allowed 25 million people to enter.”
“We had open borders and countries from all over the world sent people to the US that they did not want,” he added, while attacking migration, which is “an incredible problem for Europe”, because it is not going to contribute “anything positive”: “Illegal migration is killing them.”
