Trouble Brewing for Peter Obi as Presidential Aspirations Face Challenge

Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, is facing criticism from the former Deputy National Chairman of Labour Party, (LP), Calistus Uju Okafor, for his failure to resolve the party’s internal crisis.

Calistus Uju Okafor, who is currently contesting the legality of the Abure-led national working committee of the party in Court, disputed Doyin Okupe’s claim that he demanded N48 million to withdraw his case against the party during an interview with journalists in Abuja.

Emphasizing that he is fighting for justice and his own rights, Calistus pointed out that Obi had joined the party after his case was already in court, distancing himself from any association with Obi’s actions.

He criticized Obi’s failure to address the crisis within LP despite his aspirations to influence Nigerian politics. Calistus highlighted that the misinformation about his alleged demands for money from Obi were false and clarified his stance on seeking justice through legal means.

He refuted claims of being influenced or bribed by anyone, asserting his determination to fight for his rights independently. He revealed his resolve to continue the legal battle, expressing readiness to defend his position without external intimidation.

Calistus challenged the narrative of Igbo infighting and sponsorship, reiterating his commitment to pursuing his case and his disappointment in Obi’s handling of the LP crisis.
