Troops Uncover Illegal Weapons Factory in Plateau State amidst Insecurity

Operation Save Haven troops under Hakorin Damisa IV have recently discovered a weapon manufacturing facility in Pakachi Village, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigerian Army Headquarters announced on Wednesday.

The finding came as a result of clearance operations on a difficult mountainous terrain in the area.

During the mission, the army recovered a significant amount of illegal firearms and related equipment, leading to the apprehension of one suspect.

According to the official post, 25-year-old Mr. Tapshak Plangji was arrested on suspicion of involvement in the illegal activities at the factory, while the alleged owner, Mr. Nuhu Meshack, is currently evading authorities.

Recovered items from the facility included 5 AK 47 Rifles, 4 AK 47 Magazines, 11 Rounds of 7.62mm Ammunition, 5 Rounds of 9mm Ammunition, 21 Dane Guns, 4 Revolver Rifles, 11 Pistols with 5 Magazines, 17 Gun Barrels, 6 Rounds of 0.44 Inch Ammunition, A Carbide Cylinder with Accessories, among many others.

The post indicated that Mr. Plangji, along with the confiscated rifles and other items, is currently under the custody of the troops for further investigation.
